“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
Benjamin Franklin
To paraphrase, if you absorb content passively, you are unlikely to remember it long term. By attending training, either online or in person, you are more likely to recall it and if you then put it into practice, you will learn.
Our approach to upskilling involves a blend of personalised training and public courses to maximise the positive impact we can have on the widest possible audience. Please see our approach to personalised learning as well as our catalog of public courses. If you are interested in leading a course, please reach out to us on talktous@forwd.co.uk

Designing for Change: The Role of Architecture in Agile
A Live Online Course Presented by Kevlin Henney
MON 24 FEB 2025 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM GMT (Online, Zoom)
Agile development answers the demand for rapidly changing requirements and evolving markets. But all too often organisations focus on sample rituals of agile development rather than its principles, leading to a mismatch between the promise of change and the reality of delivery. Development can only be agile if it is empirical, responsive and not bound to a fixed set of rules. Development responsiveness, both to changes that are planned and to ones that are unplanned, is hampered by software architecture that resists change.
Architecture defines where development effort is spent. For many systems, the overwhelming majority of effort is devoted to dealing with problems, either directly in the form of addressing defects or indirectly in dealing with unmanaged technical debt. An agile architecture is one in which effort can be properly focused on software value rather than swimming against a tide of debt.
Join us for this live online Agile Architecture course to explore how agile principles can shape modern architectural strategies, empowering teams, streamlining processes and delivering value rather than frustration to the business.
